    I have UCTD and Fibromyalgia. My Rheum. has me on prednisone 10 mg and plaquenil 400 mg. I have only been taking the plaquenil for three weeks. Still have alot of fatigue and have been in a mini flare with fever, rash, mouth sores, weakness and joint pains the past few days. 8 replies I've been on prednisone for 5 months and then on plaquenil hydroxychloroquine and azathioprine for another 1month. Why my lupus rash is not going away after 6 months of rx? Hands broke out from generic plaquenil hydroxychloroquine. Was put on prednisone 5mg dr says he will ween me off pred. Put me on name brand plaquenil hydroxychloroquine. I have had lupus for 13 years. It took 4 years to diagnose it. My blood tests did not show the normal results for a positive lupus test but the doctor said let's try you on Plaquenil. I responded to the Plaquenil so we decided I have lupus. I was doing fine with no flare ups until last March when I was hospitalized for pain management.

    I have been getting these horrible rashes and they are not related to sun exposure. I am interested to see if anyone here has gotten a rash from Plaquenil after being on it for several months.
